AMP JetBlast

An iOS, Android and Web Game

Developed for AMP to promote a series of conferences to be held across Australia, JetBlast was released to iPod, iPhone, iPad, Android and Web from a single deployed codebase.

Combining elements of endless runner games with the old-school side-scrolling helicopter game, JetBlast tasks players with controlling a "Tron-like" character riding a jet engine, collecting coins, avoiding obstacles and hitting power-ups. The idea of the game is to get as far as possible, submit a score to the global and state-based leaderboards and those in attendance at the conferences would receive an award for top scores.

As lead developer, I was responsible for creating the codebase, implementing and designing application flow, game design, sound design, music and special effects. I was not responsible for the visual design as the client has strict guidelines to branding and colour selection - so visual assets we mostly supplied for me to use.

JetBlast was built in ActionScript using Adobe Air on top of the Starling GPU Framework and rapidly deployed from mocks to delivered product in less than 2 weeks!
